Barcelona were absolutely humiliated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Friday night. Actually, maybe humiliated is being too kind. The Blaugrana were annihilated, destroyed, obliterated. You get the picture. The quarter-final fixture ended 8-2 (yes, eight) to Bayern. Barcelona will just be thankful there isn't a second leg to come this season. Their opponents were 4-1 up in the first half, thanks to goals from Ivan Perisic, Serge Gnabry and a brace from Thomas Muller.Joshua Kimmich, Robert Lewandowski and even Philippe Coutinho got in on the act in the second half - the Barca loanee scored twice - to add to the humiliation. It was an awful night for Quique Setien's side and no one quite expected Bayern to blow them away so comfortably. It was a horrible night for BarcelonaEspecially not midfielder Arturo Vidal. In fact, the midfielder's pre-match comments look rather silly now. Ahead of kickoff, Vidal claimed: "Bayern will be playing against the best team in the world: Barca."They aren't playing against some random Bundesliga team. It's going to be a proper football game. They better be ready for us, because we're looking forward to the challenge."

The club even tweeted out his words, suggesting they were 'QUOTABLE'. Whoops.

If there was any truth to those suggestions before kickoff, they've been completely blown out of the water now.

Sorry, Arturo, but Bayern are the best team in the world right now and there's very little denying it.

The Bundesliga champions have won EVERY SINGLE ONE of their last 19 fixtures and it doesn't look like anybody can stop them lifting the Champions League trophy on August 23.

Manchester City or Lyon will be their opponents in the semi-final and as good as both of those team are - City especially - we just can't see either beating Bayern.

PSG or RB Leipzig will be waiting in the final and no disrespect to either of those clubs, but we think Munich will be finishing the season with 21 straight wins.

Bayern are so good right now

That would really confirm their status as the best team in the world.
