Leeds United have a big few weeks ahead of them.

After cruising to promotion last season, the Whites have a huge challenge ahead of them as they prepare for the new campaign.

It's been 16 long years since the Yorkshire side have graced the top flight, and a lot has changed in that time.

If Leeds are to successfully compete against the country's top sides then there's plenty of work to do.

Marcelo Bielsa has certainly got his squad firing on all cylinders, but there's certainly room for improvement.

Several names have already been linked with a move, but one deal looks to be gathering pace.

Reports from Portuguese outlet Record, via Sport Witness, claim that Leeds are interested in Florentino Luis.

The Benfica starlet is attracting plenty of attention after breaking into the first team fold.

Likened to Chelsea's N'Golo Kante, the 20-year-old is said to be attracting major interest from around Europe with AC Milan and Real Betis said to be keen.

Leeds are also in the running and are said to have made their interest known.

Florentino is seen as a big part of Benfica's plans moving forward, meaning that he won't come cheap.

It's claimed that the Portuguese side could command a fee of £36.1million to do a deal.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This could be a big move for Leeds United.

Florentino Luis may not be a household name in the United Kingdom but he's certainly a player with a lot of promise.

While his first team experience is limited, the 20-year-old is regarded as a hot prospect who has the potential to be one of the top players on the continent.

A move could prove fruitful for Leeds moving forward, but the deal would have to make sense.

The quoted price tag is a little bit high, in my opinion.

£36.1million for a player with limited experience at a senior level is a bit steep, and probably needs addressing.

Elland Road will be a great place for him to develop, but not if they're overpaying.

Marcelo Bielsa could see Florentino as a key player for the future, and I'm sure that in time he'd be a big success in West Yorkshire.

However with significant interest from AC Milan and Real Betis is could be a tricky deal to pull off.

I'm sceptical as to whether this move will come off, but for Leeds it's certainly worth pursuing.
