Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne has been named the 2019/20 Premier League Player of the Season. The Belgian midfielder has pipped Liverpool stars Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane to secure the prestigious accolade.De Bruyne enjoyed a ridiculously productive season at the heart of City's midfield, scoring 13 goals and notching a record-equalling 20 assists in just 35 appearances.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand was one of many to cast his vote for De Bruyne and he believes the Belgian is now one of the best players in the world.

"Without a doubt he's been the standout player this season, and he’s one of best players in world football," Ferdinand told EA Sports' official website.

"He sees passes that nobody else can and then delivers them week-in, week-out, as well as scoring some sensational goals.

"It's a privilege to watch him in the Premier League."

De Bruyne warms up

Well said, Rio.

De Bruyne is the complete midfielder and there's no one quite like him in football right now.

In the 2019/20 season, the Belgian ranked first for assists, goals+assists, through balls, chances created, big chances created, open-play chances created and goals scored from outside the box.

The guy can do it all and after just five years with City, De Bruyne is already a Premier League legend.
