Gamers around the world are all eagerly waiting the launch of the PlayStation 5 later this year.
However, there's already confirmation that Sony have filed for the trademarks of the PS6, PS7, PS8, PS9 and the PS10.
Yes, you've read that right.
Although the PS5 is yet to be released, Sony are already preparing the next five consoles, which will surely cover them for the next 20/30 years!
The PlayStation 5 is the next in line for the PlayStation, following the original, the PS3, the PS3 and the PS4, and it's set to come out in the Holiday season later this year.
An exact date, and price, is yet to be released, but it's believed to be coming around November time, ahead of Christmas.
However, the short term isn't all they are thinking about and planning for as Sony have already filed trademarks for future consoles.
Of course, this doesn't mean 100% there will be these consoles in the future, it just means Sony are saving the names just in case they plan to release them.
It would be a massive surprise if any other company tried to use the name PlayStation 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
This is something Sony have done before, though, as they trademarked the PS4 seven years before it's actual release.
Nothing like future planning to make sure your branding stays safe.
That's not all, however, they also trademarked the PlayStation 5 way back in 2006, and that's not even come out yet!
We may not ever get a PlayStation 6, PlayStation 7, PlayStation 8, PlayStation 9 and PlayStation 10, but you better believe if we do, it's coming from Sony and no-one else.
Now can 'Holiday' season hurry up and arrive so we can get our hands on the PS5!
