Tottenham Hotspur are making plans for the 2020/21 season.
They have already been active in the transfer window, snapping up Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton.
He became the club’s first signing of the summer and it is unlikely that they will stop there.
It appears likely that a right-back will become a target now, particularly as Serge Aurier has been linked with a move to AC Milan.
Having allowed Kyle Walker-Peters to move to the Saints, they would be left without a single right-back if the Ivory Coast international did depart.
But it seems they could also have their eye on a potential marquee acquisition.
Indeed, a former Spurs legend, Micky Hazard, has urged the club to bring in a Real Madrid ace, via The Daily Star.
That man would be none other than Gareth Bale.
The links with Spurs have just not gone away since he departed the club back in 2013 and Hazard believes the north London club should try to seal a reunion this summer.
Bale has made just 12 La Liga starts this season, scoring twice, and Hazard is excited by the prospect of him returning to Spurs.
He said: “Would I want to see him back in a Tottenham shirt? 100 per cent, without a shadow of a doubt.
"Anyone who says Bale wouldn't offer Tottenham anything is lying.
"I sincerely hope he gets his career back on track because he's such a special talent.
"I have no doubt he still loves the game, but unfortunately his usefulness to Wales is now also impacted by the fact he isn't playing.
"Usually I'm a great believer in top players not coming back. But in Bale's case I'm not necessarily against it.
"I just think sometimes it's hard to achieve the same levels of performance. You don't want that legacy to be undermined.
"But whether he comes back or not, I want this resolved. The stalemate at Real is a tragedy."

Bale is an iconic figure at Spurs.
He became a superstar during his time in north London, enjoying a genuinely superb rise and eventually becoming perhaps the best left winger in the world.
He made a total of 203 appearances at Spurs, scoring 56 goals and registering 58 assists.
He never managed to win a trophy in north London and a move back could allow manager Jose Mourinho to break their trophy drought, that has run back to 2008.
It would be an astonishing signing, but one does have to discount the Welshman’s wage demands to even believe it could happen.
He is, after all, earning around £600,000-per-week at Real.
Still, it’s a lovely dream for Spurs fans to have.
