For a third consecutive, Manchester United have failed to get their hands on any silverware.

That was confirmed after the Red Devils lost 2-1 to Sevilla on Sunday night in their Europa League semi-final.

It was the club’s third semi-final loss of the campaign after losing in the Carabao Cup to Manchester City and in the FA Cup to Chelsea.

They deserve credit for finishing third in the Premier League and qualifying for next season’s Champions League but has it actually been a successful campaign for the club?

Well, some players can go into their very short break with their heads held high following their performances this season. However, some have been disappointing and their future at the club is in doubt as a result.

Therefore, we’ve decided to rank the 21 Man Utd players who featured in five or more Premier League matches this season from worst to best.

Check out our rankings below:

21 | Daniel James

After starting off his debut season with three goals in his first four Premier League games, he hasn’t scored since. He’s still only 22 but he doesn’t look to be Man Utd standard.

20 | Andreas Pereira

Pereira’s United career looks over despite him playing 40 games this season. He doesn’t really offer much.

19 | Jesse Lingard

Lingard has finished the season off fairly strongly but his time at Old Trafford also appears up. He scored once in the Premier League all season - on the final day against Leicester.

18 | Juan Mata

The 32-year-old played a bit part role this season but didn’t have the impact off the bench he’d have liked.

17 | Ashley Young

Flourishing in Italy with Inter Milan right now and could help win them the Europa League. But he struggled during his 15 appearances for United this season.

16 | Sergio Romero

Will feel unfortunate not to start the Europa League semi-final vs Sevilla. He kept 12 clean sheets and conceded just five goals from his 17 appearances this season.

15 | Odion Ighalo

Ighalo managed five goals in his 19 appearances as he proved to be a useful loan signing.

14 | Scott McTominay

Will always remember his goal against Manchester City and it was a fairly decent season for the Scot, who played 37 times in all competitions.

13 | Victor Lindelof

His defending for Sevilla’s winner may prompt Solskjaer to sign a new central defender this summer. He played 47 times but has shown he’s error-prone.

12 | Brandon Williams

A breakthrough season for the 19-year-old, who made 35 appearances for the first-team. But he was caught out for Sevilla’s opener in the Europa League semi-final and still has plenty to improve.

11 | David de Gea

Not a great season for De Gea, who was guilty of making several high-profile mistakes. He should still be the club’s No.1 next season though.

10 | Nemanja Matic

The 32-year-old has actually had an alright season for the Red Devils, playing 34 times. His legs may be going but he can still do a job.

9 | Fred

Fred has certainly made a big improvement this campaign, playing 48 times and starting to show why United paid more than £50 million him. The Brazilian will be hoping to improve even further next season.

8 | Paul Pogba

Pogba made his long-awaited return to the side after lockdown and looked really good. But we can’t rank him any higher than No.8 after only making 22 appearances in all competitions.

7 | Luke Shaw

Again, injury problems plagued Shaw’s season but during his 33 games he looked back to his best at times.

6 | Harry Maguire

The club captain has played a mammoth 55 times in 2019/20 which shows his importance to the side. But he has been caught out at times and still needs to improve despite his £80 million price tag.

5 | Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Wan-Bissaka arrived for £50 million last summer and the right-back has impressed during his 46 appearances. The 22-year-old can still improve - especially going forward.

4 | Marcus Rashford

Rashford’s most prolific season as he finished with 22 goals in 44 appearances. But he only managed three goals in 13 appearances after lockdown as tiredness took its toll.

3 | Mason Greenwood

The 18-year-old has shown he’s a star in the making with 19 first-team goals. He’ll be looking to play even more minutes and score even more goals in 2020/21.

2 | Anthony Martial

Martial’s best season in a United shirt. The Frenchman bagged 23 goals in 48 games as the 24-year-old has shown signs of taking his game to the next level.

1 | Bruno Fernandes

United’s Player of the Season is a player who arrived in January. He managed eight goals and seven assists in 14 Premier League matches, while he added another three strikes in the Europa League.

It wasn’t just his goals but his arrival appeared to transform the club’s entire season. Can he do it again next season?
