Monday, August 17 was a big day in the life of David Silva.Following Manchester City's loss to Lyon on Saturday night, the Spanish midfielder played his final match for the club.To honour his service, City announced they would be building a statue for him."David is a transformational player, a quiet leader who has inspired everyone around him," said City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak."David's statue will act as a lasting reminder of the wonderful moments that he gave us, not only as an incredible footballer, but as an inspiring ambassador who represented this football club with great dignity at all times."Silva played 309 times in the Premier League for City, scoring 60 goals and winning four titles for club in 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2019.p1efv477dj19g46h74l8d71141ah.jpgHe wrote a thank you message to City fans as speculation surrounding his next move increased."I look back and it is clear I could not have made a better decision than to accept City's proposal to join their project back in 2010," he wrote.

But what was his next move?

He's been heavily linked with a move to Italy to join Lazio but, out of nowhere, a club stole in to announce his signing on Monday evening.

That club is Real Sociedad, who announced the signing on their official Twitter page.
