GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

What a move this would be for Newcastle United.

Conor Gallagher is one of the most talented young players in the Premier League at the moment, and looks set for a career at the highest level.

His experience to date has been in the Championship with Charlton and Swansea City, but he's been more than impressive.

Lee Bowyer was distraught when the midfielder left the Addicks moved to Wales, describing him as 'impossible to replace'.

The next step for him is to try and cut his teeth in the Premier League.

Newcastle United would be the ideal place for Gallagher to continue his development.

A creative midfielder, the 20-year-old would certainly add an extra element to Steve Bruce's attack.

If a deal can be agreed, this could prove to be an excellent piece of business.
