Tottenham Hotspur really mean business this summer.

Last season was very poor by the club's usual standards and they know that Daniel Levy will not tolerate another campaign like it.

While Spurs did finish in sixth place in the Premier League, they were somewhat fortunate to finish that high following a season that saw them underperform.

But with Jose Mourinho preparing for his first full season at the club, the onus now is on improving for the season ahead.

If Tottenham are to push for the Champions League this term then they'll need to strengthen.

Several players have already been linked with a move to the club, while deals for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart are already done and dusted.

But the north London side are far from done.

A couple of different positions have been touted as areas to improve, but most notably the centre of midfield.

Reports from Get France Football News, via the Daily Express,  have claimed that Spurs are interested in Ibrahim Sangare.

The Toulouse midfielder is attracting plenty of attention this summer with Newcastle United and Everton also said to be keen.

At 22 years old, Sangare is at a career crossroads with just 12 months remaining on his contract with the French side having suffered relegation to Ligue 2.

It's claimed that Toulouse are open to cashing in on the defensive midfielder, with the Ivory Coast international valued at around £18million.

However it's claimed that a deal of £13million plus add-ons could be enough to strike a deal.

Described as a deep-lying playmaker with 'excellent passing ability', Sangare could be an excellent cut-price option for Mourinho and Daniel Levy.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This could be a very interesting move.

Ibrahim Sangare may not be a household name in the United Kingdom but he certainly boasts a growing reputation in France.

While Toulouse suffered relegation from Ligue 1, the 22-year-old showed glimpses of promise that he could perform at a higher level.

That's why it's no surprise that a number of Premier League clubs are interest.

Tottenham look determined to bring in another option in central midfield, and Sangare could be a decent bet.

With the deep-lying playmaker available for a fee as low as £13million, it could represent a fairly modest outlay for Daniel Levy as he looks to strengthen the squad.

Newcastle and Everton are also said to be keen, but you'd think that Spurs hold the card with regards to his future.
