Leeds United are not messing around this summer.

After 16 long years away they've finally secured a return to the top flight of English football.

If you think they're going to take that challenge lightly then you're certainly mistaken.

It's been a long road back to the Premier League for the Whites and it seems that the Yorkshire side are keen to make up for lost time.

Marcelo Bielsa deserves a lot of credit for helping Leeds back into the top tier, with his unrivalled style of play tearing up the Championship and leaving the club's rivals in their dust.

While the Argentine will be keen to keep much of his current squad together, it'd be foolish to assume that the club won't look to strengthen.

Plenty of players have already been linked, but it seems that a fresh face could now be a contender.

Reports from TeamTalk have claimed that Leeds are interested in James Scott.

The Hull City star is said to be available following the club's relegation to League One after a disappointing campaign.

Scott only arrived in East Yorkshire in January this year after completing a move from Motherwell, however that switch hasn't exactly gone to plan.

He suffered what looked like a season-ending ankle injury before playing a minute for the club in January.

However with the season resuming in June, the 19-year-old went on to score one goal in seven appearances for the Tigers as they suffered relegation.

The forward was helpless in seeing Hull relegated, and that has alerted several clubs to the opportunity of giving him a second chance.

Alongside Leeds, Scott is attracting interest from Newcastle United, Everton and Crystal Palace who all see him as a star for the future.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This could be a very shrewd addition for Leeds United.

James Scott certainly showed glimpses of quality during his time at Hull City, but at Motherwell he showed exactly what he's about.

It was there that he racked up 42 senior appearances and scored seven goals despite his tender years.

He is also very highly thought of at Hull, with Grant McCann describing him as 'a real gem'.

A move to Elland Road seems to make perfect sense.

Marcelo Bielsa is keen to sign players for the future and the 19-year-old would certainly tick that box.

After only recently moving to Yorkshire, it seems that a move to Leeds could be ideal from the player's point of view as well.

Whether a deal can be agreed remains to be seen, but given Hull's relegation to the third tier it's unlikely that they'll command a huge sum to get a deal done.
