Bayern Munich have qualified for the Champions League final with a 3-0 semi-final win over Lyon. The Lyon players must have been quaking in their boots as they lined up against a side that were fresh from annihilating Barcelona 8-2 in one of the Champions League's craziest ever matches.Combine that with the fact Bayern had smashed seven goals past Tottenham and another seven against Chelsea across two legs to see exactly why Lyon faced an uphill battle in Portugal.

Gnabry's stunning opener vs Lyon

However, we are talking about a side that caused upsets against both Lyon and Manchester City this summer, so it perhaps shouldn't have come as a shock that they flew out of the blocks.

In fact, Lyon will be kicking themselves that they didn't take the lead with Memphis Depay missing a one-on-one and Karl Toko Ekambi hitting the post while the scores were level.

You just can't afford to let this Bayern side off the hook, though, because the Bavarians scored just moments later with ex-Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry channelling his inner Arjen Robben.

The 25-year-old collected the ball on the right-hand side, embarking on a mazy run towards the penalty area, before rounding it off with a stunning strike into the top corner.

Gnabry brace makes it 2-0

Things got even better for Bayern just 15 minutes later, too, with Gnabry once again finding the net after gobbling up a rebound when Robert Lewandowski inexplicably missed from close range.

Lyon come out fighting after HT

However, Lyon weren't prepared to just lie down and take a beating, emerging from the half-time break with far more attacking intent and Manuel Neuer was called upon twice in quick succession.

The German number one first denied a fine header from Depay whose replacement, Moussa Demebele, then carved out an opportunity for Toko Ekambi that was also blocked by Neuer.

Lewandowski makes it 3-0

However, trust Bayern to have one more moment of brilliance up their sleeves before half-time and it couldn't be any one other than Lewandowski to provide the finishing touch.

His fantastic headed goal, converted from a set-piece on the left-hand side, moved him to 55 goals for the season and within touching distance of Cristiano Ronaldo's Champions League record.

Bayern through to the final

It was enough for the Bavarians to hold on to their clean sheet and book themselves in the Champions League final for the first time since their 2013 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

On this occasion, they will face PSG who, after defeating RB Leipzig in the semi-finals, will be 90 minutes away from being crowned European champions for the first time in their history.

It's not how many expected the Champions League final to line up this season, but with both sides boasting incredible attacks, there's no denying it will make for an entertaining watch.
