Everton and Barcelona have had a good relationship in recent years.
The Catalan club have sold numerous players to the Toffees, whether it be Andre Gomes, Lucas Digna, Yerry Mina or even Gerard Deulofeu.
However, in recent times, Barca have taken an interest in those performing well at Everton, rather than the other way round.
Richarlison was the subject of a bid from the Spanish outfit in the winter period but fortunately for the Merseysiders, he stayed at Goodison Park.
Now, though, they have more in common than ever before.
Former Toffees boss Ronald Koeman, a man who was relieved of his duties in the Premier League, is now head coach of Barcelona.
His job of managing the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez is a far cry from who he was in charge of in England. It's funny how football works out.
Coincidentally, Everton and Barcelona could return to the negotiating table this summer.
That's because Koeman is looking at a player at Everton to be one of his first three signings at the Nou Camp.

According to Okdiario, the defender could become Gerard Pique's replacement at Barca if he departs. Although, Everton would be keen to receive a fee of around £30m, the price they paid to acquire him from Burnley.
It's crazy to think this link even exists.

It's no secret that Barca have defensive issues - you only need to look at their 8-2 drubbing at the hands of Bayern to realise that - but Keane would be no upgrade.

Carlo Ancelotti may admit that he has "total confidence" in the 27-year-old but to even suggest he has the qualities to fit in at Barcelona is perplexing.
Koeman may have ideas of revamping this Barca team but he is not going to do it by signing players like Keane.
They have already had poor experiences when it comes to defensive acquisitions. Whether it be Thomas Vermaelen, Dmytro Chygrynskiy or even the aforementioned Mina, they've made some questionable additions in that department.
This is not the time for Barca to be playing around and taking risks. Everton can surely rest easy. It would be madness if this deal ever happened.
