It’ll be interesting to see how Mohamed Salah copes without Dejan Lovren at Liverpool next season. The pair were almost inseparable at Anfield and formed a brilliant bromance. That bromance is now over after Lovren left Liverpool for Zenit Saint Petersburg at the end of the Premier League campaign. They really were best friends and what do best friends do? They look out for each other. And Lovren certainly did that.Back in the 2018 Champions League final, the Croatian watched out as his best mate left the pitch in tears.Salah had been hauled down by Sergio Ramos, causing a serious shoulder injury. Liverpool didn't recover from losing their star man and went on to lose 3-1.p1eg6e1m7i691rb21i4v5sfiksb.jpgA few months later, Lovren had the chance to get revenge on Ramos when his Croatia side met Spain in the UEFA Nations League. Not only did Lovren’s side beat Ramos’ side 3-2, but the former Liverpool defender also landed a hefty elbow on the Real Madrid skipper during the game.p1eg6e47p5e2014vl1pbc28jcbkd.jpgIt that wasn’t enough, he then appeared to call Ramos a ‘p**sy.’"I elbowed him good. Haha! 3-2! Go ahead and talk now buddy. Buddy! They are a bunch of p******" he said on an Instagram Live after the match. It landed him a one match ban from UEFA.

Now, after his move to Zenit, Lovren was asked about that clash with Ramos and finally admitted he deliberately elbowed him.

"I deliberately hit Ramos after hurting Salah? Yes, this is possible,” Lovren admitted, per Egypt Today.

I do not want to make a big story, but I think that what Ramos did was intentional to injure my friend, so it was time to pay for what he has done.

“Luka Modric tried to reduce the tension between me and Ramos, and we were facing Spain together with the Croatian national team, and I deliberately hit him with my elbows and told him that we have drawn now.

“I respect Ramos as a player and what he does for his team. He has won a lot of titles, but on the other hand, he does some behaviour that I do not like and harm the players.

“We were playing much better than Real Madrid before Salah was injured in the Champions League final. His exit was a big blow for us, after his exit, they began to dominate the match.

"Salah made a great effort to return from injury to play in the World Cup with the Egyptian national team.

When asked what Salah’s reaction was to the revenge attack, Lovren admitted the Egyptian saw the funny side of it.

“I will not tell you [what he said], but he laughed.”

We could all do with a best friend like Dejan Lovren.
