If you think that Leeds United are only looking to avoid relegation this term, you're sadly mistaken.

Marcelo Bielsa has completely changed the culture at Elland Road since taking over as head coach two years ago.

A fast-paced, high-intensity style of play is at the core of what they do, and blowing teams off the park has become a regular occurrence.

Last term in the Championship Leeds won the league by a 10 point margin - showcasing just how far ahead of their rivals they actually were.

But with life in the top flight awaiting them, Bielsa will not be resting on his laurels.

The Premier League will see a huge increase in the calibre of opposition, but that won't scare the Argentine gaffer.

In fact, he and his squad will be relishing the challenge.

But while Bielsa is determined to show what his side can do, he knows that they'll need to add quality.

Victor Orta has been working hard behind the scenes to identify targets who can move the club forward, and according to the latest reports they've found someone who will certainly fit the bill.

Reputable French journalist Man Lonjon, who has worked for Eurosport, has claimed that Leeds have made an audacious move for Leon Bailey.

The Bayer Leverkusen star is reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League after switching agents to tie up a deal.

The 23-year-old has been in decent form for the German side this term and has scored seven goals in 33 appearances.

Reports have claimed that Leverkusen were hoping to attract a fee of around £60million for the Jamaica international, however that fee could now be between £20-£30million as a result of the economic impact of COVID-19.

Such a cut-price deal is a far cry from the £80million that was being tipped as his asking price following Chelsea's interest in him in 2019.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

What a deal this would be for Leeds United.

While Leon Bailey may not be quite has highly-regarded as he was last term, he's still a player who has the potential to be one of the best in Europe.

Described as being 'blessed with quality' by Leverkusen boss Peter Bosz, the 23-year-old appears to be determined to make the move to the Premier League, and it seems that the Whites could be leading that race.

Marcelo Bielsa could be key in getting this deal over the line, as after all he's bound to attract plenty more interest as the days and weeks tick by.

If Leeds could strike this deal it would be a huge signal of intent as they look to hit the ground running after their 16-year absence.
