The Europa League final on Friday night was an enthralling encounter.

It may play second fiddle to the Champions League but this was up there with some of the best matches we've seen on the continental stage in 2019/20.

So often we see drab occasions in the final, but this was anything but. It was end to end football at its very best.

It was tough to pick a favourite heading into the match. Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have combined for an absurd amount of goals this season but Sevilla are the darlings of the Europa League.

When they get to this stage of the competition, they often come out on top.

That was again the story on Friday as the Spanish outfit won 3-2 in a hectic encounter where Diego Carlos was both the villain and the hero.

He conceded a penalty early on but then had a pivotal hand in the goal that won the game, unleashing an overhead kick that hit Lukaku and found the net.

It was a game that had it all, even an argument between player and manager.

In the first half, Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega and Inter manager Antonio Conte could be seen arguing.

The latter eventually earned a yellow card for his troubles but we were blissfully unaware of just how funny and ridiculous the situation actually was.

According to reports in Italy, Banega went up to Conte and ripped into the Italian's hairstyle.

He reportedly said: "Let's see if the wig is real."

The audacity from Banega to say that is truly incredible. Though, in all fairness, he may have a point - Conte's hair doesn't look very real.

How the Inter boss responded was equally as funny. He apparently offered Banega out for a fight outside the stadium after the game had finished.

Things eventually went onto calm down but it was Banega and Sevilla who had the final laugh, eventually winning the clash and taking home the trophy.
