What a time it is to be a Chelsea supporter.

Despite a challenging 12 months in which the club dealt with a global transfer ban, the west London side certainly showed their worth.

Frank Lampard's first season in charge of the Blues was a relative success, with the former midfielder guiding Chelsea to a top four finish in the Premier League.

Considering the transfer restrictions and the challenge of developing the young players at the club, that effort cannot be underestimated.

But now it's time to kick on.

Chelsea are not wasting any time this summer, as they clearly mean business.

Deals to sign Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzighave already been completed, but if you think that they're done then you're sadly mistaken.

Ongoing reports suggest that Kai Havertz is edging closer to a move to Stamford Bridge, while it's also claimed that Ben Chilwell is on the cusp of a move as well.

The Blues are clearly feeling like splashing the cash, and it seems that they're after one more major signing this summer.

Reports from AS, via Sport Witness claim that that Chelsea are plotting a move for Jan Oblak.

The Atletico Madrid man is said to be growing frustrated at the lack of silverware and 'the sporting project' that's currently being embarked on with the Spanish side.

Valued at £80million by Transfermarkt, the 27-year-old is regarded as one of the top goalkeepers in world football.

With speculation suggesting that Kepa Arrizabalaga may be deemed surplus to requirements, it'll be interesting to see how this transfer link plays out.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

What a signal of intent this would be.

We already know that Chelsea mean business this summer with two major signings completed, and deals for Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell on the horizon.

But this would be a game-changer.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is yet to convince supporters that he's the right man to hold the number one jersey in the long run, and that could mean that a replacement is found sooner rather than later.

Jan Oblak is one of the best stoppers in the world, and so any deal to bring him to the club would be massive.

Of course question marks will be raised over Chelsea's plans to fund the deal, but perhaps an exchange with Kepa could be on the cards.

That could be a solution that suits both the Blues and Atletico Madrid, and is one to keep an eye out for.
