Thiago Alcantara has almost certainly played his final match for Bayern Munich - and what a way to bow out.The Spanish midfielder, who has spent the past seven years with Bayern after joining the German giants from Barcelona, lifted the Champions League trophy after a superb individual performance against Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s final.Named as Man of the Match by WhoScored.com, Thiago played for 86 minutes before he was substituted for Corentin Tolisso. As Thiago made his way off the pitch and to the dugout, he was applauded by Bayern’s coaches - an indication that this really was his final appearance for the club. The 29-year-old played his part in the only goal of the game, scored by Kingsley Coman on the hour-mark.It was Thiago’s excellent pass which helped to create the chance from which Coman eventually scored.

Liverpool fans were purring over Thiago’s display and are now even more desperate to see the midfielder at Anfield in time for the 2020-21 campaign…

And they even reckon Thiago copied the now-famous ‘Hendo shuffle’ while lifting the Champions League trophy.

He’s clearly been watching Jordan Henderson closely.

Meanwhile, journalist/transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Sunday that Thiago has agreed personal terms for the Reds and wants to play under Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool and Bayern are in negotiations over a transfer fee but, all going to plan, Thiago will join the reigning Premier League champions over the coming weeks, if not days.

If Thiago does sign for Liverpool, Klopp will surely give him a couple of weeks off to relax after a hectic end to the 2019-20 season.

The midfielder is unlikely to play any role in Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Leeds United on September 12, while next Sunday’s Community Shield against Arsenal is surely out of the question.
