Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City (Rating: 7.66)Arguably the Premier League’s best player right now, Kevin De Bruyne scored two goals and provided the same number of assists in seven Champions League appearances for Manchester City this season.The Belgian midfielder also sealed two Man of the Match awards in the process.

7. Gabriel Jesus, Manchester City (Rating: 7.79)Six goals and three assists for Manchester City’s Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus in the Champions League this season.The 23-year-old also picked up two Man of the Match awards.
6. Alphonso Davies, Bayern Munich (Rating: 7.80)The revelation of this season’s Champions League campaign, Alphonso Davies has gone from unknown quantity to the world’s best left-back in a remarkably short period of time.It’s scary to think how good the 19-year-old might be in a few years’ time.
5. Toni Kroos, Real Madrid (Rating: 7.84)It’s a little surprising that Toni Kroos is only 30. It feels like he’s been around forever, doesn’t it?Real Madrid’s German midfielder chipped in with one Champions League goal and one assist for Los Blancos this season.
4. Harry Kane, Tottenham (Rating: 8.08)In five appearances, Tottenham’s prolific centre-forward Harry Kane managed to bag six goals.The England international is another player who sealed two Man of the Match awards.
3. Neymar, PSG (Rating: 8.17)Without Neymar, PSG wouldn’t have reached the Champions League final.But the gifted Brazilian flattered to deceive when it mattered most. His performance against Bayern Munich saw him receive the second-lowest rating of his Champions League career.
2. Lionel Messi, Barcelona (Rating: 8.37)
Lionel Messi’s Champions League campaign ended with *that* humiliating 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich, but Barcelona’s star man was still superb over the course of the season.
The legendary forward scored three goals, set up three more and won four Man of the Match awards.
1. Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich (Rating: 9.03)
What a striker.
Robert Lewandowski was this season’s best player in the Champions League and by some distance.
The Pole scored an incredible 15 goals and provided five assists in just 10 appearances. He also won six Man of the Match awards. Remarkable.
It’s a shame the 2020 Ballon d’Or award has been cancelled because Lewandowski’s name surely would have been on the trophy.
