Losing a Champions League final can’t be a nice feeling.Losing it this year, after what has been the longest season ever, must have been particularly painful.Especially when Paris Saint-Germain are still looking for their first ever European Cup triumph. The devastation could be seen in Neymar immediately after they lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich on Sunday as he broke down in tears as he was consoled by opponent David Alaba.

Shortly afterwards, Ander Herrera showed his disappointment in a very different way.

He conducted a post-match interview with Viaplay Football and gave a rather brilliant summary of his emotions.

The former Manchester United midfielder said: "The conclusion that I have right now is that if you miss clear chances and you play against another top side, they will probably kill you. As they did.

"I think we did everything to win the game, we created two or three big chances in the first half and we didn't score. Even after they scored we created two or three chances.

"They knew how to win, and we also knew how to lose the game.

"When you lose, you are f***** for a couple of days, but when you lose the way we lost, you can take a lot of things to make you stronger."

When he was asked what it was like playing a Champions League final in an empty stadium without fans, Herrera replied: "It's s***, horrible. For me, fans are the key in this sport, they're the most important thing in football.

"Football without fans is nothing. I hope all the people realise football is for fans. The business had to continue because it's a big business.

"For people suffering it's been a good escape for them to watch football."

Well said, Ander.

In another interview - this time with RMC Sport - Herrera admitted that PSG felt like s**t and that he’ll struggle to sleep tonight.

“We feel like s****. We need to think, reflect," he admitted.

"We achieved something really considerable, we built something considerable for the club and the supporters. There are no words for anyone. Tomorrow, we will have to think about what we have done, the things we could have done together. It will be hard to sleep, speak even."
