Plans for Roman Reigns' big return to the ring have surfaced following his surprise appearance at WWE SummerSlam last night.
Although he initially chose not to participate in any WWE events due to coronavirus fears, Reigns made a shock appearance at WWE SummerSlam, attacking Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman shortly after Wyatt had won the Universal Championship.
The Big Dog’s surprise appearance was supposedly kept under wraps, with some of the creative team not even knowing that Reigns would appear on any part of the show.
With this brief showing, it has left many fans with the question of: What is next for Reigns?
Well, it is not entirely certain what is next for the former WWE champion, however, WrestlingNews.co was told that Vince McMahon wants Reigns to have an “edge” to him.
McMahon also said that what they are doing now with him is what was originally planned for WrestleMania 36 and beyond.
Reigns did not appear at WrestleMania 36 because of COVID-19 concerns.
The Big Dog was supposed to fight Goldberg for the Universal Championship at ‘Mania, so it is now thought that Reigns will fight Wyatt for it, and he'll win it!
The supposed word going around backstage is that the title change may happen as soon as next Sunday at Payback.
It’s not clear if the plan is to do Wyatt vs Reigns or a triple threat match with Strowman involved.
Despite Reigns attacking Strowman as well as Wyatt, it is thought it will be unlikely for a triple threat match to happen as Strowman and Wyatt have just matched up recently.
The hype surrounding Reigns seems to only be building as there was new merchandise made earlier this week in preparation for Reigns’ return.
“Wreck Everyone & Leave” shirts went up on WWEShop.com, conveniently, just minutes after he returned to attack Strowman and Wyatt.
Although the 35-year-old had an extended absence from WWE due to the pandemic, he looked in great shape and definitely looked fit to challenge for the championship.
Reigns has also gained a lot of support following his battle with leukaemia.
The American announced back on October 22 of 2018 that he would be taking some time off the sport due to his battle with cancer, and he instantly won over the hearts of most fans.
Reigns thankfully fully recovered and told WWE fans in late February 2019 that he was in remission and ready to wrestle again.News Now - Sport News
