After his excellent performance in Sunday’s Champions League final, it would be amazing if more top clubs aren’t knocking down Bayern Munich’s door to sign Thiago Alcantara. The Spanish midfielder produced a typically classy display in the middle of the pitch as Bayern won their sixth European Cup with a 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in Lisbon.Thiago, who played 86 minutes before he was subbed off, had a hand in the only goal of the game, scored by Kingsley Coman midway through the second half.It was the 29-year-old’s pass which split PSG open and led to Joshua Kimmich picking out Coman at the back-post.For Liverpool fans, Thiago’s performance was yet more evidence that Jurgen Klopp should be doing everything in his power to sign the midfielder ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.Reports claim that Liverpool are keen to bring Thiago to Merseyside and that the Premier League champions will enter negotiations with Bayern.

Thiago, who wants to play for Liverpool, has one year remaining on his current deal at Bayern and will cost as little as £27 million.

Meanwhile, a video is currently going viral showing Thiago’s trademark move that opponents just can’t seem to stop, no matter how many times he does it.

He waits for the ball to arrive and then spins at the best possible moment, fully aware of how close the nearest opposing player is to him.

It’s like he has eyes in the back of his head.

Opponents think they can nip in and intercept the ball but end up getting spun and left for dead.

Thiago’s former teammate Arjen Robben was famous for his trademark move of cutting in from the right and shooting on his left foot.

And Thiago’s own move is just as effective.

Wayne Rooney said of the midfielder this week: ”He almost came to United in 2013 and now Liverpool are linked with him. He’s one of the best midfielders around – I just hope he doesn’t go there!”

"He can take the ball, be composed on it, keep things ticking over – and he’ll put his foot in. He’s an all-round midfielder, really, with a bit of everything. He backs up that Bayern press and he drops in between the centre-halves to take the ball yet can also join in when they’re playing around the other box too.

"He’s a great player. It would be great to see him in the Premier League, actually."

Premier League defenders who watch this video will already be sweating at the prospect of getting spun by Thiago next season.
