Left-back: Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich) - 7.80 rating

This was an obvious choice.

Alphonso Davies has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world following a stunning season which he capped by winning the Champions League.

The Canadian provided three assists and completed more dribbles (26) than any other defender.

Right-midfield: Lionel Messi (Barcelona) - 8.37 rating

WhoScored stick with a rigid 4-4-2 formation that has Lionel Messi at right-midfield.

The Argentinian’s season ended in disappointment but he was still excellent, completing more dribbles (57) than any other player in the competition.

Central midfield: Neymar (PSG) - 8.17 rating

Neymar couldn’t fire PSG to European glory but he certainly tried.

The Brazilian finished second to Messi for successful dribbles (43), 15 of which came in PSG’s 2-1 win against Atalanta.

The 28-year-old scored three goals, provided four assists and was fouled an average of 4.8 times per 90.

Central midfield: Thiago (Bayern Munich) - 7.76 rating

Thiago looks set to leave Bayern this summer but what a way to go out.

The dynamic midfielder excelled in the middle of the park, finishing the campaign with a dribble success rate of 81.3%.

Left midfield: Serge Gnabry (Bayern Munich) - 7.75 rating

From being not good enough for West Brom to winning the Champions League, it’s been some story for Serge Gnabry.

The 25-year-old winger scored nine goals in total, with four coming in that stunning display away to Tottenham.

Striker: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) - 9.03 rating

Nobody had a higher rating than Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish striker enjoyed the best season of his career, with 15 of his 55 goals in 2019/20 coming in the Champions League.

He also weighed in with five assists in a season that should have ended with Lewandowski claiming the Ballon d’Or award.

Striker: Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City) - 7.79 rating

Man City’s Champions League campaign was disappointing but Gabriel Jesus tried his hardest to end City’s years of waiting, scoring six times and providing three assists.
