UFC’s Colby Covington has caused uproar after attacking LeBron James and other NBA stars after they protested against the shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin.Twenty-nine-year-old Blake was left paralysed after being shot numerous times in the back by police on August 23, with the incident currently being investigated by the FBI.NBA side Milwaukee Bucks, the team based closest to where the shooting occurred in Kenosha, boycotted their play-off fixture with Orlando Magic as they refused to leave the dressing room. The NBA quickly announced the night’s other fixtures were to be postponed, before talks were held to ensure the rest of the season will be played.Former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington has had his say on the protests, with the staunch Trump supporter launching a shocking attack on those protesting against inequality.“Oh wow, you postponed your games?! Wanna prove you’re really about change?” he wrote on social media. “Quit your multi million dollar jobs and soft privileged lives playing a kids game, take a massive pay cut and perform the toughest job in America. Become cops!”

Kamaru Usman, who broke Covington’s jaw during his victory over the controversial fighter in December, was quick to respond to the disgusting remarks, tweeting: “I really wish someone would just break your jaw already.”

Further boycotts are expected in American sports, with David Beckham’s Inter Miami side walking off the field ahead of their MLS clash with Atlanta United. Tennis’ world number 10 Naomi Osaka also joined the protests, pulling out of the Western and Southern Open.

Basketball icon LeBron James backed the Bucks’ decision to boycott their fixture, as he took to Twitter to voice his anger over the shooting of Blake.

“F*** THIS MAN!!!! WE DEMAND CHANGE. SICK OF IT,” tweeted the former Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers forward.
