Leeds have had quite the last few days.

Out of nowhere, the club smashed their transfer record, one that's stood since 2000 to bring Rodrigo to the club.

A Champions League player with international experience for Spain, it was a considerable coup to bring him to Elland Road.

However, the recruits didn't stop there. In between that and the more downplayed arrival of academy prospect, Sam Greenwood was the acquisition of Robin Koch.

A capable defender capped by Germany, he is the Ben White replacement everyone was searching for in west Yorkshire.

Phil Hay expects Leeds to settle down now somewhat in the transfer window, but truth be told, they could still do with a couple more additions to prepare them for Premier League life.

The top-flight can be ruthless if you don't get things right - just ask Fulham after their horrific 2018/19 campaign.

The transfer rumours are still rife surrounding Leeds and over the weekend, news emerged of a possible move for a player at Manchester United.

According to The Mirror, the Whites are contemplating a move for goalkeeper Sergio Romero.

The Argentine has fallen behind Dean Henderson in the pecking order now and with the Englishman set to battle it out for the number one spot with David De Gea, chances of football look slim for Romero.

Leeds are one of the sides ready to offer him an escape route but they aren't the only side interested.

Everton and Carlo Ancelotti are eyeing a swoop for the stopper in a bid to give some competition to Jordan Pickford.

The report states Man United are ready to listen to offers for their £70k-a-week 'keeper.

Sergio Romero

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

Whether this is a good move or not largely depends on the future of Kiko Casilla.

At the moment, Leeds have two goalkeepers at their disposal - one senior and one younger - so it would be pretty pointless bringing Romero to the club as well.

That being said, if Casilla does indeed exit, it could open the door for a more experienced number one to sign for the club.

The Spanish stopper was charged with racially abusing Jonathan Leko last season and after being banned, surprisingly then played on the final day of the season after serving his punishment.

Sergio Romero

However, Illan Meslier has been particularly impressive and kept seven clean sheets in ten matches during his stint in goal.

That provides enough evidence that he should be the permanent number one at Elland Road. Providing Casilla leaves, then Romero would be a wise signing. After all, this is someone described as an "immense talent" by Eric Bailly at Old Trafford.

Though, they will need to bring his wages down because he earns a considerable amount across the Pennines.

For context, Rodrigo is set to earn £60k-a-week after signing. Romero would not be worth more to them.
