Lewis Hamilton was once again unstoppable in a very tame race, to stretch out his championship lead even further to teammate Valtteri Bottas.Hamilton seemed untouchable from the start, despite the pre-race prediction of a threat coming from both Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and the weather.Fortunately for Hamilton, neither came to fruition as he took a comfortable lights to flag victory from Bottas and the Dutchman.The victory for Hamilton was helped by an early safety car caused by an incident between Antonio Giovinazzi (Alfa Romeo) and George Russell (Williams). Russell being an unfortunate victim of a loose wheel from Giovinazzi’s car wondering into his path.Thankfully, both drivers were not injured.This removed any threat of an undercut as everyone pitted for their mandatory pitstop.

As the top three were stagnate throughout the race, there was a good day at the office for Renault as Daniel Ricciardo took an excellent fourth place from teammate Esteban Ocon. To highlight the genuine pace of the Renault this weekend, Ricciardo even took the point for setting the fastest lap of the race as he tried to close in on his old teammate Verstappen in the last few laps of the race.

With Racing Point seeming to struggle to find the same pace that they have had all year, it was a chance for McLaren, Ferrari and Renault to close in in the fight for third in the Constructors’ Championship.

For McLaren, it was a race of mixed fortune, however, as Carlos Sainz retired during the reconnaissance lap to the gird due to a suspect exhaust problem, while Lando Norris fought his way through from 10th to finish seventh, just behind the Red Bull of Alex Albon.

The shock of the weekend was the lack of pace of the Ferrari.

With their star drivers struggling to even get out of Q1 (only just squeezing through to Q2), they struggled with straight line speed, as was demonstrated early on when Charles Leclerc made a great start from 13th to move into eighth, before slowly falling down the field as the car could not defend around the high speed circuit at Spa-Francorchamps.

The Ferrari’s will not be looking forward to their home race at Monza, Italy next week as the circuit is dubbed “The Temple of Speed” due to having the highest average lap speed across the whole calendar.

For Hamilton, he edges closer to the all-time record for most wins, currently held by Michael Schumacher on 91.

He also seems to be getting closer to his seventh Drivers' Championship, which would equal Schumacher for the most world titles.

After his win in Belgium, he was quick to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who sadly passed away yesterday, with his celebrations on the podium.

For us fans, we need Bottas and Verstappen to do something if we want a season-long title fight, but at the minute, it looks like yet another walk in the park for LH44.
