Considering how many games usually occupy their season, signing some back-up or someone to replace him would be a very wise idea.
However, what the Hoops need to work out is whether Douglas or Hickey is the better option.
It's a toss-up of many things. Do you go for experience over potential or sell on value vs instant impact?
Douglas is the senior professional here and it's remarkable to think he has just one Scotland cap to his name.
Hailed as "fantastic" by former Celtic boss Gordon Strachan, he has had a wonderful career at the age of 30.
He has 51 assists from 205 games as a left-back, a phenomenal record that even someone like Trent Alexander-Arnold would be proud of.
Hickey, on the other hand, doesn't possess the same sort of attacking qualities. He's still only 18 so still has plenty of room to grow, but if you're looking for an instant impact, Douglas is probably your man.
Taylor, after all, is only 22 himself.
