WWE Payback 2020 results: Every title on the line changes hands during incredible night

Reigns won the main event on Sunday night

WWE made the unprecedented call to run two pay-per-view events in one month, with Payback following SummerSlam last night.

It was always going to be a tough ask for the company to build serious hype for a PPV with a one week build, but this show actually felt important.

There were eight matches on the card and none of them were SummerSlam re-matches, which was a pleasant surprise.

Three championships were on the line too and all eyes were on the main event.

It saw 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt defend the Universal title against Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns, who had returned just one week earlier.

But before we get to that, check out the full results from Payback below:

It was quite a night inside the ThunderDome.

As you can see, every title on the line changed hands and we now have a new US champion, new women's tag team title holders and of course, a new Universal champion.

The main event was carnage too.

Before Reigns got his hands on the title, Wyatt and Strowman collapsed the ring with a huge Superplex.

That opened the door for The Big Dog to come in and clear house and after a few chair shots, a low blow and a spear, he covered Strowman for the three-count.

To close the show, Reigns made his way back up the ramp to meet his new advocate Paul Heyman and officially ushered in a new era of WWE
