Manchester United are finally about to make their first signing of the summer transfer window.

Fans have been desperate for the club to complete their first purchase ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, which gets underway in September.

And they’re pleased with the news that Donny van de Beek will arrive from Ajax in a deal worth £40 million.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly a huge admirer of the Dutch midfielder, who is set to sign a five-year deal with the Red Devils.

The 23-year-old, who has been capped 10 times by his country, could make his United debut against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on September 19.

Van de Beek – who had been linked with various top clubs in recent months including Real Madrid and Barcelona – rose to prominence as part of the brilliant Ajax side that reached the 2018-19 Champions League semi-finals.

He scored 17 goals in all competitions for Ajax that season and United fans will be hoping that he can be just as effective at the Theatre of Dreams.

Although Van de Beek’s signing hasn’t been officially confirmed just yet, it’s only a matter of time before it is.

And United fans are currently sharing a video which shows Van de Beek’s excellent off the ball movement.

Watch the two-minute video here…

It’s clear that Van de Beek possesses a huge amount of footballing intelligence.

He understands the game – which you’d expect from a product of Ajax’s famous youth academy – and subsequently knows how to open up opposing defences with well-timed runs.

Van de Beek is unlikely to go viral on social media for moments of breathtaking skill, but he should turn Man Utd into a better team while still chipping in with goals and assists.

Here’s how Man Utd fans are reacting to the video of Van de Beek’s movement…
