It's time for Aston Villa to put their money where their mouth is.
Rumour after rumour has swirled around the Midlands this summer but we're yet to see new Sporting Director Johan Lange really splurge the club's finances.
He has preferred a more conservative approach to last summer, and who can blame him?
Jesus Garcia Pitarch ultimately paid the price for some questionable recruitment, spending £140m last summer only for Aston Villa to finish 17th in the Premier League.
They proved that spending isn't necessarily the answer, or rather, buying so many players wasn't the best thing to do.
This summer, Villa are still looking to spend big but it'll only be on a few players after welcoming Matty Cash to the club on Thursday morning.
Ollie Watkins and Callum Wilson are their two main attacking targets while a £30m swoop for Odsonne Edouard has been touted. The Villans certainly aren't here to mess about.
Despite signing Cash, they still need a few more defensive recruits. Could they bring a former player back to the club to combat that? Quite possibly.
Manchester United centre-back Axel Tuanzebe was linked with a move to Leeds this week but in recent days, it's been suggested that he should re-sign for Villa and Dean Smith instead.
Speaking to Football Insider, former Villan Alan Hutton said:
"I’d actually like to see him back at Villa, if I’m being honest. I’m really surprised he hasn’t had more opportunities in the Man United first team.
"He’s a really exciting young player. I was hoping Villa got him after last season but it didn’t quite work out."
Tuanzebe is currently valued at £7.2m by Transfermarkt.

This would be an absolutely sensational piece of business, not just because Tuanzebe is hugely promising, but also because he knows the club inside out.
The 22-year-old was absolutely vital to Villa's promotion-winning side in 2018/19 and alongside Tyrone Mings, they established a frightening pairing at the back.
Tuanzebe has already enjoyed two spells in the Midlands but during his second stint, he was colossal, winning 3.2 aerial duels per game and making 3.9 clearances a match.
It's no wonder that Smith thinks so highly of the young defender.
Before Villa took on Man United last season, he said:
"He is a terrific guy. He's got a terrific attitude, that is the thing which will stand him in good stead with his career. I can't speak highly enough of him. He was a big part of why we got promoted last season."
Smith also commented on Tuanzebe during his time at Villa Park. "Axel is a great player and we all like him here. He’s a great athlete, quick and comfortable on the ball and tactically astute too."
Smith has been linked with a number of his former players this summer, including Rico Henry and Said Benrahma, but arguably none have made a better impression on the manager than Tuanzebe.
It's a no-brainer to bring him back.
