Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is thought to have reached out to his potential future teammate Giorgio Chiellini, to clear the air after the biting incident between the two at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
According to reports in Italy, as per the Daily Mail, Suarez phoned up the defender to make sure there was no bad blood between the pair ahead of a proposed transfer this summer.
During a group stage encounter between Uruguay and Italy, Chiellini found himself marking Suarez, who bit the Italian defender on the shoulder. Suarez, rather amusingly, proceeded to fall to the floor and claim injury to his teeth.
The bite was not caught by referee Marco Rodriquez, but a later review found Suarez guilty and banned him from football for four months - which included the rest of the World Cup and the first game of the 2014/15 Premier League season. He was also fined £65,680.
Suarez is thought to be switching Barcelona for Turin for £4.4 million, and the move will take him to a club where Chiellini is the captain.
The attempt to make amends will no doubt be helped by Suarez's response to the incident six years ago, which the Uruguayan recognised as a mistake, although continued to remark that his character is what got him where his is today.
The bite was largely put aside by Chiellini, who said: "It just happened, but this is his contact strategy in hand-to-hand combat and, if I may say so, it is mine too.
"He and I are similar."
The major holdup in Suarez's move appears to be his demand in severance pay from Barcelona, with the forward requesting a significant £22 million from the side he joined six years ago.
The front three of Suarez alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala has the potential to be one of the deadliest forward lines in Europe, as Juventus continue on their campaign to restamp their authority on European football, their last Champions League title coming 25 years ago.
