The iconic Super Mario 64 will now appear on Nintendo Switch alongside many other titles

Fans of the Nintendo legend will be able to finally play Super Mario 64 on Switch along with Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 3D World as part of the Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario 64 have been optimised and will arrive as one package with the release on Nintendo Switch slated for September 18.

Super Mario Sunshine will also appear in a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Nintendo is currently celebrating the 35th anniversary of the first Super Mario game and has announced exciting plans to bring the character to Switch.

In a press release, they stated: “The games have been optimised for a smooth gameplay experience on Nintendo Switch. Super Mario 3D All-Stars also includes an in-game music-player mode to play the music and songs from all three games.”

There will only be limited physical copies available with the digital version going off sale in March 2021 on the Switch eshop.  

Nintendo has also brought back games which were originally part of the Nintendo Entertainment System such as Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2, and Super Mario Bros. 3.

These versions of the game have updated 16-bit graphics to them and are available to purchase on the Nintendo Switch today.

Other plans that Nintendo announced today include enhanced versions of both Super Mario’s 3D World and Bowser’s Fury that will be coming to Nintendo Switch on February 12 next year. Both these games were originally released on Wii U.

They also announced Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. This unique AR experience will allow Mario Kart to be brought into the real-world racing through gamers’ own home.
