According to Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett, Aston Villa have made an enquiry to sign Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
The journalist took to Twitter on Friday afternoon to reveal the news but what he didn't mention, was how much the 28-year-old could cost. He was quoted as saying: "Not clear yet whether he would be too expensive."
That's an interesting thing to note given his Transfermarkt valuation of just £2.52m.
Dorsett references that a striker is the main priority for Villa, so perhaps they're waiting to see how much they can get away with spending in other areas.

Rather bizarrely, Aston Villa have been linked with a plethora of stoppers this summer.
Whether it be Sergio Romero at Manchester United or Emi Martinez at Arsenal, Lange has clearly spotted an opening at some of the big clubs.
It was suggested earlier this week that a fee had been agreed for Romero so by enquiring about Gazzaniga, they are being wise and weighing up all their options properly.
That price for the United 'keeper was a supposed €8m (£7.1m). That sounds like a reasonable fee for a player that's been capped 96 times by his country Argentina.
Coincidentally, Gazzaniga is behind Romero in the pecking order for their country and has just one cap to his name. That being said, his rise to earning 43 Premier League caps has been quite something - he was described as "brilliant" all the way back in 2012 during a stint at Gillingham.
Despite that, if Romero comes in cheaper than the Spurs man, he must surely be the number one choice for Dean Smith and co.
Tom Heaton, Orjan Nyland and Jed Steer are still on the books at Villa Park so competition would be high for the number one spot.
Surely at least one of them will leave before the window is said and done in October.
