Twitter account @nocontextfm1 has used Football Manager to predict next season’s events by simulating the season 100 times on the game. The simulations saw Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City lift the Premier League trophy a mammoth 46 times, with last season’s runaway champions Liverpool lifting the title on 37 occasions.Jose Mourinho’s Spurs and Frank Lampard’s Chelsea were crowned victors on seven occasions each, whilst Arsenal were victorious twice. Manchester United won the competition just once. This success in the league earned Guardiola the Manager of the Year award on 41 of the simulations, ahead of Jurgen Klopp (36) and Frank Lampard (8) in third place. It was City who dominated the FA Cup during the simulations as well, getting their hands on the famous trophy under the Wembley arch 28 times. Liverpool were nearby with 23 wins, whilst Tottenham (14), Chelsea (9), Arsenal (8) and Manchester United (7) made up the top six.The so-called ‘Big Six’ dominated the Carabao Cup as well, with Chelsea earning the most silverware with 19 League Cup crowns alongside Man City. The two were one ahead of City’s neighbours Man United who won the competition 18 times. Then came Arsenal (17), Liverpool (13) and Tottenham (11).Sergio Aguero was the league’s best marksman as he won the Golden Boot on 44 occasions, with Burnley’s Chris Wood remarkably coming in in second place as he outscored everyone else in 20 seasons. Alexandre Lacazette (18), Harry Kane (7) and Mohamed Salah (5) made up the top five.

Assist wise, Man United’s Bruno Fernandes topped the charts in 21 of the 100 simulations, with Kevin de Bruyne and N'Golo Kante second and third respectively.

French superstar Kylian Mbappe got his hands on the coveted Ballon d’Or in 28 of the 100 seasons, no doubt mainly down to helping PSG win Ligue 1 a jaw-dropping 98 (ninety-eight) times out of 100. Five-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo earned his sixth award on just eight of the seasons, whilst Lionel Messi got his seventh on just four simulations!

Bernardo Silva was crowned Premier League Player of the Year on 26 of the 100 simulations, ahead of Harry Kane (24) and Sergio Aguero (23). The accolades saw the Portuguese star earn a place in the Team of the Season on 69 occasions, with only Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk (76) getting into the side more.

Ruben Dias to Liverpool for £52m (30) was the most common transfer, with the Portuguese defender helping the Reds win the Champions League on more occasions than anyone else. Klopp’s side dethroned Bayern Munich 23 times, ahead of Manchester City (17) and Inter Milan (9).

If Football Manager is anything to go by, it could be a difficult season for West Brom, Leeds United and Sheffield United, as these three sides were relegated the most times. The Baggies were faced with the drop 63 times, whilst Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites and Chris Wilder’s Blades headed back to the Championship 44 and 46 times respectively.

Bielsa (69) alongside Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers (71) and Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson (64) were the three most likely managers to leave their roles.

The simulations offered hope to Bournemouth fans after their relegation this season, with the Cherries bouncing back into the top flight on 97 occasions out of 100.

According to @nocontextfm1, some rather amusing things to happen were Newcastle splashing out £87m for James Maddison, and Brandon Williams, Chris Smalling and Johann Gudmundsson earning a spot in the Team of the Year once each.
