Tottenham Hotspur mean business this summer.
Last season was bitterly disappointing for the North London side as a season of such promise petered out into real mediocrity.
Jose Mourinho was brought in to rescue the campaign and enjoyed relative success after guiding the team to a most unlikely top six finish.
It was far from what supporters expected, but given the circumstances it was a reasonable achievement to ensure Europa League qualification was secured.
Part of the uncertainty last term was based around player contracts.
Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen were three of Tottenham's most influential players, but with contracts that were due to run out at the end of the season it provided a real distraction both on and off the pitch.
In the end Alderweireld penned a new deal was Eriksen was shipped off to Inter Milan in January.
Vertonghen made the decision to leave the club in the summer after many years of service, leaving Spurs with an almighty hole to fill in the middle of their defence.
Funds are at a premium this summer due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and that means that signing a replacement could prove to be trickier than first thought.
But according to Football London the north London side have a key target in mind in the shape of Kim-min Jae.
Described as 'a monster', the Beijing Sinobo Guoan defender has been linked with a move to Europe for some time with reports suggesting that a move could cost around £13.5million.
While Spurs have been interested for some time, the report claims that Daniel Levy could wait until later in the window before finalising a move.
They wrote: "When it comes to centre-backs, Spurs have an interest in 23-year-old South Korean defender Kim-min Jae, who plays for Chinese side Beijing Guoan, and have also been linked with a move for Inter Milan's Milan Skriniar among others.
"However, as mentioned above, any move for a new centre-back is likely to come later in the window when funds through sales have been brought in."

The final weeks of the summer transfer window could be very interesting.
By the sounds of it, plenty of clubs could be holding out until late in the window to really get a view on what players are available.
As well as that it's predicted that the erratic nature of the current window could settle slightly with inflated price tags and wage demands likely to settle a little bit more as club look to force through deals.
Tottenham need a defender - that's no secret.
But holding out until the end of the window could be risky in case they miss out on the players they want to sign.
They can't risk going through the season without a senior addition, and so it's key that they get a deal done.
