The Leeds United supporters are relishing this summer period.

After 16 years in the wilderness of the English Football League the Whites are finally back where they feel that they belong.

It's been a long road back to the top tier of English football, but they've finally made it.

A big part of the club's recent success has been down to Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta.

The first team set-up is heavily built around Bielsa who has established a unique squad and playing style with the view to outworking and outthinking his opponents.

Only a specific type of player can hack it in his system, and that's where Orta comes in.

After some shrewd additions in recent seasons the director of football has worked tirelessly to bringing in players who can aid Leeds both now and in the future.

Robin Koch and Rodrigo are two of the flagship signings to have been brought to Elland Road, but there's going to be plenty more coming in.

Several names have been heavily linked with permanent moves from abroad, but that's not where all of the focus lies.

Leeds are also said to be looking at loan signings from clubs in the Premier League, with Conor Gallagher one of the names linked.

The Chelsea man was thought to be closing in on a loan switch to Crystal Palace, but according to Alan Nixon of The Sun it seems that Leeds are fancying their chances of convincing him to move to Yorkshire.

Nixon tweeted: "LEEDS. Hanging on in Connor Gallagher race.

"Could go out on loan once signs a deal. PALACE been leaders but also have Batshuayi on radar and can't do both."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This would certainly be a surprise if it was to come off.

Crystal Palace were said to have agreed a deal with the player, but it now appears that this could have been premature.

Leeds are certainly still looking for a number 10 to bolster Marcelo Bielsa's squad, and Gallagher certainly fits the bill in that regard.

However it remains to be seen whether they can beat Palace to this one.
