An intense clash between Danny Rose and Jose Mourinho has been shown in episode five of Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur series.
Three more episodes of the series are now available to watch and Amazon’s film crew certainly delivered, capturing a heated Rose meeting with Mourinho after being dropped from the team.
Rose struggled for game time under the Portuguese coach last season, starting just one Premier League game before being loaned out to Newcastle United in January.
The left-back has been in and out of the Spurs side in recent years and threatened to wind down his contract and leave for nothing after Daniel Levy tried to sell him last summer.
But Rose was more optimistic about his future after Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino, beginning their meeting by admitting: “I was very excited when you came in as manager.”
However, things changed when Rose was dropped from the team after a disappointing performance against Liverpool in January.
He asked to speak to Mourinho and is seen in the episode five demanding to know what the “problem” was.
When the Spurs boss asked what he means, Rose replied: “You know exactly what I mean, how I'm being treated.
“I was very excited when you came as manager, but if you don't want me to play, I'd rather you just tell me now, and I'll stay at home, and I'll train at home.”
Mourinho explained to Rose that he had been impressed by Japhet Tangaga’s performances in the side but the left-back said some of his teammates had been picked despite playing “s***”.
“Do you want me to be man of the match and give my best performance when I play one game and then I don't play again for three or four weeks?” he adds.
“I wasn't good against Liverpool, it wasn't my best game, but other people have been s*** in training, s*** in games, but are in the squad every game. It's not fair.”
Rose then walks out of the room and demands to speak to club chairman Daniel Levy.
