What a time it is to be a Leeds United fan.

The Whites stormed to promotion in emphatic fashion last term after winning the Championship by 10 points.

But after the success of that campaign the attention now turns to making a success of life back in the fast lane.

It's been 16 long years since Leeds have graced the Premier League and the Yorkshire side certainly won't be taking their return lightly.

Victor Orta and his recruitment team have been incredibly busy as they look to bolster Marcelo Bielsa's squad with the sort of quality that can help them challenge this term.

Robin Koch and Rodrigo have already joined the club as two flagship signings, while a number of young players have also joined the club as they look to build for the future.

But Leeds are far from done yet.

Reports have suggested that Leeds United are pursuing a deal for Rodrigo De Paul - a move which seems to be gathering pace.

The Udinese man is highly regarded after impressing in Serie A, leading to significant interest.

Leicester City are also said to be interested, but according to Italian journalist Luca Fiorino it's Bielsa's side who are still very much leading the chase.

He said: "Leicester have joined the race for Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese. Leeds are still in pole position but the competition has increased for Argentinian midfielder.

"No concrete bids have been submitted from Juventus and other Italian clubs."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This would be a cracking deal if Leeds United can get it done.

Rodrigo De Paul is undoubtedly a top level talent and that's why he's attracting the interest of clubs such as Leicester City and Juventus.

Valued at £27million by Transfermarkt, the attacking midfielder looks like the ideal player to link up with the Leeds first team squad.

As well as being a player who is highly regarded by Marcelo Bielsa, the fact that he fills that position of an advanced playmaker is a huge positive.

Pablo Hernandez will play a key role for Leeds this term, but he'll need competition for places and that's where De Paul comes in.

If this deal can be wrapped up then Leeds have a very exciting player on their hands and that could serve them well this term.
