Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden should be preparing to represent their country once again tonight against Denmark.Instead, they’re back in England. By now, we all know why.The pair were caught bringing two Icelandic girls back to their hotel in Reykjavik and were subsequently sent home by manager Gareth Southgate.More details have since emerged from the night in question.According to the Daily Mail, they actually tried to bring at least FOUR girls back to their hotel.Icelandic model Nadia Sif Lindal Gunnarsdottir, 20, and her cousin, 19-year-old Lara Clausen did join them in their hotel.p1ehn1ceim3qh1kdm12vetev1v6cj.jpgBut it seems they weren’t the only girls the Manchester City and Manchester United player contacted.Another girl, Anita Gunnarsdottir, admitted being filmed flirting with the players with a friend during a phone call. However, she said: “I didn't meet them. I'm not one of the girls who went to the hotel.”Nadia, who did meet them in the hotel has explained her side of the story."We met online," she told the Daily Mail."I was talking to Mason for a couple of days before they came to Iceland. They did not book the rooms. We did, and paid for them ourselves."I feel really sorry for them and I never wanted to put them in that position. But we didn't know any better, and we didn't know that they were quarantining, or else we wouldn't have gone to meet them.p1ehn1r1g3smf16o71h9nmhm1njal.jpg"We didn't even know who Phil was. I asked Phil who he was. I'm not that much into football. I don't watch football at all."We didn't even know that Mason played for Man United. We haven't spoken to them since. We don't want to interrupt them because they are of course going through a lot right now. They haven't contacted us."It was a good night that we had, of course. We were all the four of us spending time together and getting to know each other. They were really nice guys."

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Greenwood released an apology via Manchester United.

“Having now had the chance to reflect on what’s happened, I can only apologise to everyone for the embarrassment I have caused,” he said in a statement published on United’s website.

“It was irresponsible of me to break the COVID-19 protocols which are in place to protect players, staff and the public.

“In particular, I want to apologise to Gareth Southgate, for letting him down when he had shown great trust in me.

“Playing for England was one of the proudest moments in my life and I only have myself to blame for this huge mistake.

“I promise my family, the fans, Manchester United and England that this is a lesson I will learn from.”
