Not because they've gone crazy in the transfer market, but because they've been hit with financial difficulties and been at the centre of Amazon Prime's new documentary - All or Nothing.
The series has been a fascinating insight into how Jose Mourinho coaches and manages his players. He may not be in his peak anymore, but he is still one of the most interesting and entertaining in the business.

He has acted in a shrewd manner to sign three players so far - Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty.
None of them are additions that you make you stand up and think 'wow' but they should all help to balance out the squad after missing out on Champions League football.

However, one signing who'd get people off their feet and talking is Gareth Bale.
Yes, we know this drum has been banged for a while now, but there is a small possibility that he returns to north London this summer.
A few weeks ago, Football Insider reported that Spurs were considering a swoop to bring him back and now at the start of September, former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has urged them to sign the Welshman.
Bale currently has a release clause of £452m at the Bernabeu but he is unlikely to cost anywhere near that amount.
Here's what Redknapp had to say when talking to The Sun:
"Of the possible destinations, if Bale went back to Tottenham to team up with an already lively frontline you could see Spurs do some serious damage.
"Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dele Alli and Bale. If it were my call, I’d throw all four of them on together and step back to watch lift-off.
"Bale could change Tottenham from European contenders to Premier League title challengers. He would give everyone a lift. And when I think of Dele playing the supporting role behind those three it makes my skin tingle.
"But Spurs need reinvigorating — and Bale would do just that."

Forget the lack of money for a second, if Spurs can do this deal this summer they must bite Real Madrid's hands off.
The Wales international may be more focused on golf than football in Spain but he is still an absolutely terrific player.
His pace is frightening and the ability with which he strikes the ball is often dumbfounding.
Bale has the ability to beat anyone in world football and he'd add a winning mentality to the club that they currently lack.
Supporters won't need reminding the last time they won a trophy but as Redknapp mentions, he's someone who alongside Harry Kane, could have Tottenham challenging for major honours.
Bale only netted three times last season but has 105 Madrid goals to his name, as well as four Champions League trophies.
He would be one of the best pieces of business Levy could do.
