What a way to bring up your 100th international goal.

Ronaldo missed the chance to go for 100 when he sat out Portugal's win over Croatia on Saturday with a toe infection that manager Fernando Santos likened to a bee sting.

"He had been training well, then suddenly on Wednesday one of his toes was red, as if he'd been stung by a bee," Santos said, per Goal.

"Now we have to wait. With an infection, you don't know how long the recovery is going to take."

Ronaldo ended up watching the game, which Portugal won 4-1, from the stands.

In a comical moment during the match, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was asked to put on his mask.

Not even Ronaldo is above the mask law.

Thankfully, he managed to make it back for the Sweden game and he made it a night to remember with his landmark goal.

Congratulations, Cristiano.
