Tottenham Hotspur really mean business this summer.

While funds are somewhat limited due to the ongoing COVID-19, there's a real need in north London for the side to strengthen.

Last term was a huge disappointment, and that's what the club are looking to address.

Spurs were hanging around in mid-table for much of the campaign, but Jose Mourinho was able to thread together enough decent results to secure a top six finish in the league.

That may have only seen them qualify for the Europa League this term, but given how poor they were that will be seen as a relative success.

But the same will not be tolerated this time around.

Daniel Levy has already brought Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty to the club, but there's going to be more deals on the horizon.

Signing a striker is likely to be a top priority, and according to reports Tottenham look like they're going to be revisiting an old target.

According to reports from the Daily Express Spurs are pursuing a deal for Arkadiusz Milik.

The Napoli striker, who is out of contract next summer, is said to be available for a move this summer as the Italian side look to cash in.

Valued at £28.8million by Transfermarkt, the Polish striker enjoyed a good season last term after scoring 14 goals in all competitions.

The report claims that Juventus and Roma have been interested in a move, but with no deal imminent it seems that Spurs could be opening the door to a potential deal.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

I'm not so sure that this is a deal that will come to fruition.

Arkadiusz Milik is a player who Tottenham Hotspur are big admirers of - after all, this isn't the first time that they've been linked with the striker.

But with plenty of reports about a lack of transfer funds available, this might prove to be a tad expensive.

Napoli reportedly want a fee of around £26million for the striker, and while he would undoubtedly be worth that amount, it could be a bit too much for Spurs.

But perhaps it's a proposal that will give Spurs something to think about.

With Harry Kane the undisputed first choice in attack, they need a second option to provide competition for his place in the side.

Milik will undoubtedly be good enough to fill that role, but I'm not totally convinced that this one will come off.
