Chelsea are absolutely dominating this summer. After a season in which the Blues secured a top four finish in the Premier League, few would have predicted the way that the London side would go about their business.Frank Lampard's first season in charge was based around giving young players a chance to shine, but that changed when the global transfer ban was lifted. The summer deals started rolling in pretty early with Hakim Ziyech joining the club from Ajax last season, before Timo Werner completed his move from RB Leipzig. What followed was pretty impressive, with deals for Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell and most recently Kai Havertz being completed. That took Chelsea's transfer business to over £200million spent, but they're still not done.p1ehp60nqjc78p8e9qv1itm1uig9.jpgReports in recent days have suggested that the club are closing in on a deal for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. The Rennes stopper looks set to come in and compete with Kepa Arrizabalaga for the number one jersey. With that deal likely to be done sooner rather than later, it begs the question of what Chelsea's plans will be next.Well, according to Sky Sports reporter Angelo Mangiante they may well revisit their previous interest in West Ham star Declan Rice.

Mangiante tweeted: "First of all, the new goalkeeper.

"But after completing the signing of Edouard Mendy, Declan Rice will be the last target for Chelsea.

"He is still in the list of Lampard to close a fantastic transfer window."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

Chelsea fans must be pinching themselves with how this summer has gone.

After exceeding expectations by finishing in the top four, it seems that the target for the new season could be much more ambitious.

With the calibre of the signings that the club have made, there's no escaping the fact that the Blues are pushing for the Premier League title.

Those players are more than capable of pushing Manchester City and Liverpool all the way this term, and that's what Frank Lampard will be tasked with doing.

Of course he'll have the significant challenge of getting the players to settle into life at Stamford Bridge, but that's part and parcel of football.

With Edouard Mendy said to be coming in, a deal for Declan Rice would be some way to cap off the summer business.

Valued at £44.55million by Transfermarkt, the West Ham man has been a long-running target and so to get him on board would indicate that it's job done in west London ahead of the new season.
