Leeds United are enjoying quite a summer in the transfer market.

Following their promotion from the Championship last term the efforts of the recruitment team have firmly been on strengthening Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

Robin Koch and Rodrigo have both joined the club on big-money deals, while a number of talented young players have also completed moved to Elland Road.

But the focus now is on signing one or two more additions.

The signing of a playmaker is top of the list for Victor Orta and his team, with Rodrigo De Paul tipped to complete a move to west Yorkshire.

The 26-year-old Udinese man would undoubtedly be a top quality addition for Marcelo Bielsa's squad, with former goalkeeper Paul Robinson touting him as the ideal player to replace Pablo Hernandez in the long run.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: "It’s a role that they’re going to have to look at. You saw how important Hernandez was to Leeds in the run-in to the Championship title.

“He was wrapped in cotton wool, he was subbed on in games and then subbed off. He came on, did his job and then the thinking was to take him off and get him ready for the next game.

“He’s obviously not going to be able to go on forever. Hernandez has still got time at Leeds left in him, but the way he plays and what Bielsa wants from that position, it’s important to bring someone else into the club.

“Rodrigo De Paul can play across all of the midfield positions but he’s capable of unlocking doors like Hernandez. He’s a clever player, he can see a pass going forward and it just shows you the level the club are at that they’re going for players like this.

“They’re not afraid to be paying £20m-£30m for these sorts of players. It shows that Leeds are back in the big time and I have no doubt that footballers like De Paul will come to Leeds because of Bielsa.”

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

A move for Rodrigo De Paul seems to tick all of the boxes.

Valued at £27million by Transfermarkt, the Udinese man has been hugely impressive recently after scoring seven and creating seven for the Italian club last term.

As well as adding crucial creativity to Marcelo Bielsa's side, it has to be considered about the long-term impact that he can have.

Pablo Hernandez is approaching the end of his career, and while he can certainly still be a big player for Leeds it's key that they have someone who can fill in for him when he's unavailable.

De Paul certainly wouldn't be a backup player, but Bielsa would undoubtedly be thrilled to get a top player in to provide competition for places.
