WWE news: Major surprise heel turn could be coming soon that fans will hate

WWE are reportedly considering turning one of their major superstars heel despite him being one of the most loved characters right now.

Following a difficult year for the company, which saw redundancies made due to the coronavirus pandemic, the WWE appear to be trying to shake things up, and their latest plot-twist could leave one of their newest recruits losing his current fans' favourite status.

Women's superstar Bayley recently turned on her tag-team partner Sasha Banks, establishing herself as a new villain on SmackDown, but she may not be the only heel turn happening on the main roster.

This week's Raw episode suggested that a similar storyline could be about to take place on the men's side of the locker room as well.

Keith Lee lost his match with Randy Orton after interference from Drew McIntyre, and the former NXT champion could not hide his frustration with the Scotsman when he appeared on Raw Talk after the show.

“Listen, I get why tonight, but I have an issue with the fact that I know that you know there’s only one chance that you have to make a first impression and you interfered in that. I have since redeemed you. I have avenged you and said ‘okay, now this is done, I took care of this for you, now you can come back and give him the beating that he deserves.’ I get another opportunity here and you show up and do it again. I don’t understand," he said.

The stage appears to be set for Lee to take his fury out on McIntyre sooner or later, and WrestlingNews.co claim that WWE already want to turn the former into a heel.

“We were told that at some point, the plan is to turn him heel to feud with the top babyface over the WWE Championship," they confirmed.

McIntyre defends his WWE Championship against Orton at Clash of Champions on September 27. It would not be a surprise to see Lee involved himself in that matchup to confirm himself as the latest heel, as WWE start to plan potential clashes for next year's WrestleMania 37.
