This has been a rather tame and uneventful summer at Spurs.
They have barely spent in the transfer market, marking a period of time in stark contrast to the one we witnessed just over a year ago.
After reaching the Champions League final. Tottenham then went on a huge spending spree. In signing Tanguy Ndombele for a club-record fee, they splashed over £130m during the course of the entire season.
That was a fantastic way to make a statement by Daniel Levy but it didn't exactly pay off.
He had to sack Mauricio Pochettino and then Jose Mourinho failed to get Tottenham into the top four.
They finished outside the Champions League places and because of Arsenal's FA Cup triumph, they now have to endure the Europa League qualifying stages too.
However, it's not all doom and gloom at Spurs. That's because the additions of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Matt Doherty are shrewd.
Tottenham might not be done there either. Gareth Bale continues to be linked with a sensational return but a more realistic deal could be done for someone in the Championship.
That might sound underwhelming but we all know that Tottenham doesn't particularly have much to spend this summer.
A few weeks ago, the Lilywhites were touted with a move for Bournemouth's Josh King and The Athletic's ever-reliable David Ornstein came out this week to claim that their interest was indeed credible.
However, he did quash rumours that he was the main priority.
Speaking during his YouTube show 'Ask Ornstein', the journalist stated:
"They [Aston Villa] are indeed interested in Joshua King. His value is around £15-£20m but he has quite a few suitors. I don't know how high up he is on all of their lists. Tottenham, for instance, have him on a list but I don't think he's a priority at this point in time.
"Josh King wants to go to Manchester United. That's his dream. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like to sign him."

As a squad player, there are certainly no negatives to signing King. After all, the north Londoners could do with some extra firepower heading into the new campaign due to how hard Harry Kane's absence was felt in 2019/20.
King has plenty of Premier League experience and he could offer something completely different to the Spurs attack. That's because he's a physical and aggressive striker.
He's also got the seal of approval from one of the division's best-ever strikers. Speaking to Football Insider in June, Kevin Phillips said: "Very exciting player but I am unsure whether he would be happy playing second-fiddle to Harry Kane."
However, because Kane has missed a number of matches in the last two years - 33 in total - he may actually get a fair amount of game time.
That being said, Spurs need to ponder this move carefully. He was bullied against the Tottenham defence and in particular, Jan Vertonghen, during their 0-0 draw with Bournemouth in July.
The Belgian made ten clearances, won nine aerial duels and was also victorious from two tackles, via WhoScored.
It was a dominant performance that should have Spurs worried about his consistency.
