Newcastle United have endured quite a summer so far.
After the disappointment of the £300million takeover falling through, attention quickly turned to getting the team into shape for the new season.
Mark Gillespie and Jeff Hendrick were first through the door after joining on free transfers from Motherwell and Burnley respectively.
But with the supporters hoping that the Magpies would splash the cash in order to strengthen, Newcastle clicked into gear.
Three deals were completed in the space of 48 hours as Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Jamal Lewis arrived at St James' Park.
But the club's business isn't done yet.
Several players have been linked with a move to Tyneside, one of whom is Boubakary Soumare.
Fabrizio Romano tweeted that Newcastle had a bid of £32.3million rejected by Lille for the midfielder, something that Lee Ryder of Chronicle Live says isn't the case.
Speaking on the Everything Is Black And White Podcast, Ryder said: "They’ve got a long-term interest in the player, but I was told from somebody at the club today that there had been no bid slapped in.
“That reported bid didn’t occur, but are they interested in the player? They’ve got a long-term interest in him, they tried to sign him in January, so it’s not a name you can dismiss in the long term.”

Newcastle United have enjoyed a decent summer - at least, they have in comparison that many expected.
With the PIF takeover falling through, many expected the Magpies to have a particularly quiet window with Mike Ashley refusing to put his hand in his pocket.
But in fairness to him he's certainly spending money.
The battle to avoid relegation is going to be intense this season and Ashley knows that without investment he risks the drop this term.
That's why deals for the likes of Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Jamal Lewis are particularly shrewd, and will no doubt offer good value for money.
But with Steve Bruce lacking decent options in midfield, it makes sense that the club would be looking out for other players.
Valued at £22.5million by Transfermarkt, Boubakary Soumare is a player who is highly-rated at Lille, and that's why he's attracting plenty of interest.
However a move could prove to be costly, and that's why Newcastle may be hesitant to make a move.
