The Liverpool Echo rated Trent Alexander-Arnold five out of 10 following his performance in the Reds’ 4-3 win over Leeds United on the opening day of the season. The right-back wasn't anywhere close to his best, being beaten by Jack Harrison for Leeds’ first goal and nearly scoring a comical own goal in the second half.He struggled against the pace of Helder Costa throughout, too. We’ve come to expect so much from the 21-year-old, who has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent years.Indeed, some believe he’s the best player in his position in the world. But he was sloppy against Marcelo Bielsa’s side and was thankful for a devastating performance in front of goal by Mohamed Salah.p1ei32p0v4talap1mve1joi198kc.jpgAlexander-Arnold’s dismal statsAlexander-Arnold’s stats from the match prove he struggled both defensively and offensively.p1ei32t2rc116bj991cg213vp1a28f.jpg

Per Statman Dave, he failed to win a single tackle and didn’t create a chance from open play.

The England international’s pass accuracy in the final third was just 36%.

Alexander-Arnold mistakes video emerges

None of this is a major cause for concern for Liverpool - but Alexander-Arnold has left himself open to criticism from Football Twitter.

And a Chelsea fan has shared a video of the right-back’s mistakes against Leeds.

The video features Alexander-Arnold’s defending for Leeds’ first goal and the moment he put the ball into his own net with a wayward header, before being saved by the assistant referee’s flag.

Alexander-Arnold wasn't the only defender who struggled in the win over Leeds.

Virgil van Dijk managed to get on the scoresheet but his error that allowed Patrick Bamford to make it 2-2 in the first half was awful.

Remarkably, the 29-year-old has now made two errors leading to goals in his last four Premier League matches, per Opta.
