The Premier League is back.

It seems like just yesterday that Liverpool were crowned champions of the 2019/20 season... but we go again.

There was plenty of excitement on the opening weekend too with Arsenal making a statement against Fulham, while Liverpool and Leeds played out a 4-3 thriller at Anfield.

On Sunday, Leicester City returned to action away at newly-promoted West Brom.

The Foxes breezed past their opposition with three second-half goals ensuring they took the points.

Jamie Vardy was the man who stole the headlines, converting two penalty kicks late on.

Last season's Golden Boot winner has already made a strong start to the new campaign.

Vardy scored a brace vs WBA

With his brace against West Brom, the English striker actually reached an impressive landmark.

Vardy now has more goals than Premier League legend Didier Drogba... and he's overtaken the former Chelsea star in 42 fewer matches.

The Leicester star has netted 105 goals in 212 games, while Drogba managed 104 in 254.

Vardy has overtaken Drogba

Maybe it's time to start comparing Vardy to Thierry Henry

All joking aside, it's time we put some respect on his name. If Drogba is renowned as a Premier League legend, why shouldn't Vardy be?

Both men scored over a century of goals, both men won the title too.

Vardy is a title winner

Throw in Vardy's Golden Boot and PFA Player of the Year award and he's certainly up there with the best.

On top of besting Drogba's goal tally on Sunday, Leicester's striker also matched another record.

Vardy has now been on the scoresheet against West Brom in ALL FIVE of his away fixtures at the Hawthorns.

Vardy broke a second record on Sunday

The only other star in Premier League history to play in as many away matches against an opponent while scoring in each game is Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Not bad company eh, Jamie.
