Leeds United are really enjoying themselves this summer.

The Whites secured promotion to the Premier League in emphatic fashion after winning the Championship by 10 clear points.

Their dominance for clear for all to see, and the hope was that they could replicate the same qualities in the top flight.

While Leeds are confident of their abilities to do so, they're certainly not taking anything for granted.

Victor Orta and his recruitment team have been working tirelessly over the last few months to identify players who can improve Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

The Argentine is fiercely loyal to his current crop of players, but even he knows that additions will be needed.

Robin Koch and Rodrigo have already joined the club as big-money additions, while deals for several talented youngsters have also been secured.

But the Whites are far from done yet.

Several new players have been linked with a move, but none more than Rodrigo De Paul.

Valued at £27million by Transfermarkt, the Udinese man is attracting plenty of attention this summer with Roma also said to be keen.

Leeds are keen to press on with a deal, but face the daunting prospect of meeting the Italian side's €40million valuation.

With supporters waiting on news of a breakthrough it's certainly an interesting time with regards to negotiations.

One man who is privy to all conversations is De Paul's agent, Leandro Pereiro, who told Inside Futbol: “We are evaluating some options”.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This seems like a deal that will rumble on and on.

Leeds United are certainly keen to strike an agreement for Rodrigo De Paul but it seems like it will be a little bit more complicated than they first thought.

Udinese know that they have a top quality player.

After scoring seven goals and seven assists last term, De Paul has showed a glimpse of what he has to offer.

Given the interest in the playmaker, it's no surprise that the Italian side are playing hardball when discussing an asking price.

They may be accepting that the player is likely to move on, but they'll be keen to squeeze every last penny out of a potential deal.

That means that if Leeds are to get their man then they could face an anxious wait.

With several weeks left of the transfer window, this is one that could rumble on until the final knockings as the Whites look to strike a deal.
