Gareth Bale looks set to finally leave Real Madrid. Developments in recent days have seen him strongly linked with a Premier League return to either Tottenham or Manchester United. The latter have always been big admirers of Bale and their interest over the years has been well known, but it could be a return to White Hart Lane that the player prefers. His destination is still unknown but one thing looks sure - the Welshman won't be staying in Spain for this season. Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett has confirmed that talks are ongoing between the parties to secure his player a move back to north London. "Gareth still loves Spurs," he told BBC Sport Wales, per talkSPORT."We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale’s camp]. It’s where he wants to be." Bale wants a return to SpursThere's no doubt that supporters will be excited about the prospect of the 31-year-old returning. After all, it was at Spurs that Bale developed into a superstar. But talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has reservations about the move and has even gone as far as calling Bale a 'panic buy'."I think he'll be a good signing but I feel it's a risky signing, a panic buy," he told the radio station. Is Bale Tottenham's best option"Jose Mourinho has lost the first game, he's probably in the office of Daniel Levy saying 'I need a big signing, I need a star'."I just feel it's a bit of a panic buy from Spurs. He hasn't played much football, he's been renowned for his injuries. If you're paying £300,000-a-week, you want guaranteed games. "You don't come into Spurs and play 10 games out of 40 or 50 games and not be fit."

Imagine spending £300,000-a-week on a panic buy. Only Tottenham...
